چکیده

Exchange bias is a unidirectional magnetic anisotropy that often arise from interfacial interaction of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic layers. In this article, we show metallic layer with spin-orbit coupling can induces an exchange via interface magnetoelectric effect. linear response regime, the effect induced by couplings arises broken symmetry system. Furthermore, demonstrate be controlled electric field.

Magnetoelectric switching of exchange bias.

The perpendicular exchange bias field, H(EB), of the magnetoelectric heterostructure Cr2O3(111)/(Co/Pt)(3) changes sign after field cooling to below the Néel temperature of Cr2O3 in either parallel or antiparallel axial magnetic and electric freezing fields. The switching of H(EB) is explained by magnetoelectrically induced antiferromagnetic single domains which extend to the interface, where t...

Controllable positive exchange bias via redox-driven oxygen migration.

Ionic transport in metal/oxide heterostructures offers a highly effective means to tailor material properties via modification of the interfacial characteristics. However, direct observation of ionic motion under buried interfaces and demonstration of its correlation with physical properties has been challenging. Using the strong oxygen affinity of gadolinium, we design a model system of GdxFe1...

Controllable p-n switching behaviors of GaAs nanowires via an interface effect.

Due to the extraordinary large surface-to-volume ratio, surface effects on semiconductor nanowires have been extensively investigated in recent years for various technological applications. Here, we present a facile interface trapping approach to alter electronic transport properties of GaAs nanowires as a function of diameter utilizing the acceptor-like defect states located between the intrin...

Exchange bias effect of ferro-/antiferromagnetic heterostructures

The exchange bias (EB) effect was discovered 60 years ago by Meiklejohn and Bean. Meanwhile the EB effect has become an integral part of modern magnetism with implications for basic research and for numerous device applications. The EB effect was the first of its kind which relates to an interface effect between two different classes of materials, here between a ferromagnet and an antiferromagn...

Anomalous exchange bias at collinear/noncollinear spin interface

We report on the interfacial magnetic coupling in manganite bilayers of collinear ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and noncollinear multiferroic TbMnO3. Exchange bias is observed at the Néel temperature of TbMnO3 (,41 K) due to the onset of long-range antiferromagnetic ordering in the Mn spin sublattice. Interestingly, an anomalous plateau of exchange bias emerges at the ordering temperature of Tb ...
